Our Program for Sober Living in Southern California

Hope by the Sea offers a sober living program that allows both freedom and structure to co-exist. 12-step meetings and other therapeutic activities are encouraged, as they teach newly sober individuals how to take care of themselves and monitor their recovery on a daily basis. Clients in our Orange County sober living homes are able to attend school, work, and outside meetings. Clients have reasonable curfews and have chores or other projects within the house to keep it running smoothly while instigating normal daily habits. In this way, our sober living provides patients with useful skills that facilitate their transition back to the real world.

Sober Living as Long-term Support

The majority of people who use sober living as a tool after residential treatment find that long-term sobriety is easier to maintain and that the social network and friends they meet in sober living end up being supportive, long term friends. Sober-living homes are generally not co-ed in order to help clients focus on their recovery without distraction. There may be a minimum stay, but often people choose to stay in sober living in Orange County for longer than required because it is a fun, supportive, loving and familial environment. Hope by the Sea encourages our clients to use sober living as an additional form of support after a drug and alcohol rehab primary program is completed. Drug and alcohol abuse are behaviors that develop over time. Even after individuals form new habits, a supportive network of friends and positive role models help them to maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
